According to the NA Office, the committee is scheduled to scrutinise some debatable issues of the draft law amending and supplementing some articles of the Law on Public Investment, and the draft revision of the Law on Tax Management. These drafts had been discussed previously at the parliament’s sixth session in late 2018. The NA Standing Committee will listen to the Government’s report on the outcomes of the collection of public opinions on the draft revised Law on Education. Mikhail Mamonov, Russian Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media, made the statement at a working session with Minister-Chairman of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung in Hanoi on February 20. Dung commended the outcomes of working sessions between the Russian delegation and Vietnamese agencies during their visit to Vietnam from February 18 to 20. The delegation had previously held meetings with the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Hanoi People’s Committee, and leading Vietnamese IT groups. Divided into three working groups to discuss with Vietnamese partners in fields of shared concern, they studied Vietnam’s proposals related to public service portal, e-verification system, centre for cyber security, and smart city building. After the Vietnamese Government Inspectorate and the Russian anti-corruption department inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on anti-corruption in 2014, the two sides have exchanged information and experience to deal with challenges in the fight against corruption, ensure the building of a transparent law-governed state and gradually keep corruption in check. A car bomb attack befell at 3:15pm (local time) on February 14, on a national highway near Lethpora village in Pulwama district, about 27km south of Srinagar city of Kashmir. The death toll of the attack, targeting paramilitary troopers belonging to India’s Central Reserve Police Force, has climbed to 40, while many others are reported to be injured, according to local officials.
